MassDOT, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, was established in 2009 through reform legislation signed by Governor Deval Patrick — consolidating multiple state transit agencies into one department. Today it operates the Mass Pike (I-90), Boston tunnels, and all highway gantries through the EZDriveMA platform, serving commuters, businesses, rental car users, and fleet operators across the Commonwealth and 19+ interoperable states.
